Registering for fall when taking a pre-req over the summer.

<p>So here’s the situation. My cousin wants to take General Chemistry I over the summer at SMC. (He originally goes to El Camino but due to budget cuts they’re not offering General Chem I during the summer.) Well, What he wants to do is register for General Chem I over the summer and Chem II in the fall. The problem is is that since El Camino College lets you register for summer and fall at the same time, and Gen Chem I is needed before Gen Chem II, he could register for Chem I but won’t be able to register for Chem II for the fall because the Gen ChemI prerequisite hasn’t been fulfilled yet (and of course he wants to get on top of this because the class will probably be full by the time he finishes Gen Chem I). So is there a way for the school to enable him to register for the gen chem II (Maybe show a counselor/ Admissions office proof that he’s taking Gen Chem I over the summer) even though he has not finished the class (or even taken the class yet but is registered for it)?</p>

<p>Yes, all he has to do is go talk to a counselor and they’ll perform a prerequisite override.</p>
