Friday registration is for students that attended orientation that week.

Until you attend orientation and meet w/ an academic advisor, there is a bar in the registration system that does not allow you to register.

At this point, registering before late-August probably won’t make much of a difference. The thousands of freshman who attended summer orientation will have already registered and most of the more desirable classes will have been filled.

However, if there is a class that you need for your major that is closed, an academic advisor can “force” you into the class. This does not mean that they will necessarily “force” you into a class at the time that you want - only that they will “force” you into a class that you need. You may end up w/ 8 a.m and/or 4 p.m. classes w/ big open blocks of time in between.
