Regular Decision

“sarcasm? In my experience, Tufts is one of the LEAST organized and puctual schools there are. They lost both my teacher’s recommendation and my essays :P”

haha have u ever head of UMASS aka ZOOMASS???

I’ve been accepted to McGill and waiting for Tufts.
Between these two good schools, which one is more prestigious?
I just “overheard” that if one (esp American) chooses to go to a school in Canada - even if its one of the best- Americans would not think it as prestigious as mid-rank colleges in the U.S.

Easily Tufts

Tufts is much more selective, just check the collegeboard rankings.

It depends on what you want. McGill has a very low retention rate and has thousands of kids (the academics there are VERY cutthroat and highly competitive. People can and will fail out at McGill) - it’s highly impersonal. Most people probably won’t have heard of McGill except for certain companies, but it’s no poor institution by any means. Debatably it is the best university in Canada but in my opinion, don’t expect an ivy league education coming out of it. Tufts is highly regional in its reputation too, so people out in CA unless they work in the health field probably won’t know about us.

Firstly, I think that Tufts has been misplaced on the America’s best colleges list. Secondly, many people, including my parents, place the assumption that a school is only good if it’s rank high on that list. I beg to differ.

Ok…so did deferred students already get decisions? I need to know ASAP.

“Firstly, I think that Tufts has been misplaced on the America’s best colleges list. Secondly, many people, including my parents, place the assumption that a school is only good if it’s rank high on that list. I beg to differ.”

My parents think the same and I whole heartedly agree with you, pdesai

umm i beg to differ with the idea that tufts has been missplaced it is an amazing school and if anything is under valued in my opion

yeah that’s what they’re trying to say, that it should be ranked higher.

my RD decision came out at almost exactly 3 PM on March 30th last year. I came home from school…and got into Tufts, lol.

For the people talking about William and Mary - I’m not sure…I got in OOS and I don’t consider myself the cream of the crop, since i didn’t get into any Ivies but was waitlisted at two, FWIW. Those decisions came the day before Tufts’ in the mail.

Good luck to everyone! Don’t worry so much about it!

Yeah I definitely agree that tufts has been misplaced. It should be much higher. I personally think it is on the same level as the ivies, or maybe just a tiny bit below.

es219, I believe you may had misread my last post. Although reading back on it, it does sound somewhat confusing. What I meant to say is that Tufts is ranked 27! I think it deserves to be a little higher. And it’s tied with UNC, I mean come on. OK, I guess I am a little biased against UNC because I didn’t get in. heehee. But still that doesn’t change my opinion about Tufts being higher on the scale. It’s a shame that not many people have heard of it. Only 6 people that I have talked to have heard of it.

And…have you guys been getting rejected from your safety schools? Because that seems to be the new trend. Blah…so frustrating!

BTW: I was looking at TAMS, and my decision from ED I is gone for the first time, I got accepted, so…idk, thought that was odd…it’s grey again, no link.
