Regular People

i hear about all these applicants who were differed EA that have amazing records and extra curriculars nearly perfect test scores and perfect grades.
that makes me wonder what the chance of a normal person getting accepted into HYP are
if you havent traveled half way across the world to fight world hunger or been a sports national champion four times or are related to someone who donated half a million dollars to the school? haha

Go to the Resources sticky thread at the top of this forum. Look at past Results threads for real life examples of deferred/accepted/denied/WLed applicants.

I’ll just say this. You don’t have to be nationally ranked at anything to be accepted at Yale, even accepted early. That being said, no person I would considser “regular” gets into Yale nowadays; every Yalie is somewhat special.
