reimbursement for previous semesters

Do colleges reimburse you for previous semesters? My first year I had to use my parents 2008 tax return because they didn’t file the 2009 one yet. I don’t think I ever went in and changed it. There was a big discrepancy between the two years, 2009 being a lot less.

I would be surprised if they gave you aid without final numbers.
I bet you or your parents completed your application at the time.

This question makes no sense–or you falsified the numbers on FAFSA. Basically, if you entered guestimate numbers and acted as if these were actual numbers, then not only are you out of luck with any “extra FA” but if you try to correct the numbers now, you are at risk on some level because you filled out federal forms and signed them as true.

You are better off walking away. The college isn’t going to give you more FA for classes taken 1 year or 4 years ago. And you don’t want to tell the college you filled the FAFSA forms with made up numbers and clained them as true.

Prior years are closed out now. You cannot make any changes.

The truth is, some schools will award aid even when the FAFSA is “will file.” The system is not always set up to flag “will file” and prevent aid from disbursing the way it is for those selected for verification. It is entirely possible that this student received aid in a “will file” status. It is far too late to change it now, though. That year is in the past.
