Rejected Stanford SCEA, any hope?

Okay I told myself I won’t do this, but I can’t help myself. I need realism in my life, not overly optimistic advice from people who don’t really know much about the US application process.

I hate to say this, but chances are very slim. International + URM + requiring financial aid as an international + average test scores (for these colleges) = difficult chances. I wish you all the best though.

Probably the reason people aren’t responding is because -

 1. You are international seeking aid so makes it a little tougher to guess.
 2. After the stats posted in the recent rounds of ED/EA it seems even more mysterious how these people decide to admit/reject/defer. It certainly can’t be fully predicted based on the stats people typically post.

That said I’d say your very top schools are going to be very tough. But you will probably find at least one on the list that will let you in and give you some money.

That’s my best guess, and it really is a guess.

@pewpewpew - thanks for the honesty. I need it. Haha hey I can always go to college in my country if this doesnt work out huh?

@bovertine - Yeah, I get that. Hm, I guess there’s no real way to know is there, so I should just apply and hope for the best. Thanks!
