Note that it is now much harder to transfer from CCs. UCSD stopped their scheme. Too many applicants in general. But there is life outside the UCs.
@Brotherbear - if you keep your 4.0 or close at Cal Poly, you can relatively easy transfer to other top schools, not just UCB or UCLA but to Ivies, especially if you have some type of URM. I know it for fact.
