Rejecting multiple applicants from same school

does harvard (or any other college for that matter) usually deny a whole group of studnets from a school (group = like 5 or more ish?) or would they prefer to at least waitlist one as a courtesy to the school? my school is not a feeder, but we have a good # of applications this year. i’ve read admissions confidential (or something) by a ex-Duke adcom, and she wrote that they often give at least 1 person in a school a waitlist as a courtesy. does harvard do this, or is this somewhat unique to duke?

also, my school has never sent anyone to an ivy except cornell in recent history…would that come into consideration or would they say “…who cares?”

However, if a h.s. has never sent a student to Harvard, that can count as a tip factor.

I don’t know whether Harvard wait lists candidates as a courtesy to the school.

Best of luck!

I’m not sure, but all 4 of the EA applicants from my school were deferred…I thought all had a great chance too!
