My child applied to several schools within reach (so advised by school counselor) and has been rejected. Is there any possible way her SAT, ACT and GPA could have been reported incorrectly? I realize the likelihood is so slim but would hate not to explore this possibility.Especially, since the rejections came from her advised match schools and safety schools. Is there a way to verify what numbers the colleges actually received not just that they were sent and received? We want to move forward, start seeking other options but want to be certain there was not a mistake. Thank you for any information you can share.
If they used your D’s transcript an error like that would be doubtful. You can ask to see what the HS sent. I think CA admissions this year were tougher than normal.
The school nor student send the transcript to UC and CSU schools until after second semester. So, I am wanting to see the numbers they received from the College Boards. I haven’t been able to find out how to get this information from the Universities. Any ideas???
The colleges usually post the SAT scores on this students portal so you can see if they match the scores that were self-reported and along with the actual scores from the College Board website.
You could ask guidance counselor to contact admissions at the schools to ask. This is such an anxiety filled process. I am sorry, it sounds like you may have received bad advice. My DD applied to too many schools for fear of that same outcome. She is looking forward to a gap year. Has your daughter considered that possibility?i hear there are many good schools still accepting applications. Good luck!
