What are good websites to apply for scholarships that are reliable?
The very best scholarships come from the colleges to which you are admitted.
You can also talk to your school counselor to inquire about local scholarships, but these tend to be smaller in $$ amount.
What year are you in HS?
How much money do you need?
What do you mean by “reliable”?
Yes, I am a senior in HS, I don’t have any specific amount I need but the more the better…
I will look more into the schoarships that’s provided by the colleges I’m admitted to.
thank you
“Reliable” as in trustworthy and aren’t a “scam”
You have already applied to colleges. Do any of them offer merit aid for kids with your stats? How competitive are these awards!
But most important…do you have affordable options without this?
How much can your parents pay annually?
How much aid do you need??
We’d need more backstory. Did you apply for financial aid at the target colleges, fill out that paperwork? Is this a case where your parents can afford the costs, but are hesitating? Do you have any admits yet?
Most ‘additional’ outside scholarships are small amounts. The bigger ones are mega competitive and most of those deadlines have passed.
How did you do on the SAT retake? Your GPA and SAT are low for scholarships. Did you submit FAFSA for need based aid?
Where all did you apply?
Ask your guidance counselor about local scholarships to apply to. I think those would be your best bets.
yes I did apply for finanical aid for the colleges (and got amitted). But I do not know what finacial aid I recieved from the colleges or where to check.
(I am all new to this and the first to attend college in my intermediate family)
To get a financial aid package you need to fill out the FAFSA (and potentially the CSS Profile if any of your schools requires it). You can run the Net Price Calculator on each schools web site to get an idea of what FA you might qualify for.
