Religion and Medical School?

Can I major in religion and still get into medical scool?

Absolutely not. You can major in anything except religion.

I think religion falls under the category of “anything” in the statement that has been repeated hundreds of times on this board: “you can major in ANYTHING”

Big Bang vs… GOD, this seems a bit controversial…but I guess you can major in anything

thats silly…i hope your joking

I think that comparative religions or something similar to that would be fine, but an in-depth degree from a religious college (Bible Studies, Youth Ministry, etc.) would be looked down upon. At the very least, if you held a degree in the latter, you would likely have to spend 1-2 years in a post-bacc program to fulfill your med school prerequisites.

as long as you can fulfill your premed requirements, and the religion won’t impair your practice, you should be fine.
