religion in additional essay?

For the quote essay, I would like to submit an essay that discusses my struggle with my religious identity. I like to think that it reveals a lot about myself by way of “identity struggle” and also demonstrates intellectual vitality because the points that I raise are significant, but I am also weary that it focuses almost solely on religion.

Would a school like Princeton be turned off my such a focus on religion?

To qualify this question, let me point out that I try to be very careful about how I come across, eliminating any chance of being construed as a religious fanatic.

I doubt Princeton gets many essays about religion since it’s a very touchy subject. If you can pull it off, then you should submit it.

More than the issue itself, let your essay throw light on how you went through your struggle and how you made the decision- in other words, show that you are a mature strong person, able to go through sophisticated thinking and decision process.

Btw, I am pretty sure I read somewhere that most colleges get plenty of religion-inspired essays.
