Religious Preference

For this item, common app says.

The following items are optional. No information you provide will be used in a discriminatory manner.

That means filling this will make no difference in application process. Will they choose decision based on this. As it is optional, will it be safe to NOT fill this ?

I'd assume so. With the exception of Christian colleges (and maybe Hillsdale and some obviously Catholic schools), I honestly don't think college admissions care one way or the other. It adds to diversity, sure, but I have a feeling that only applies if you're answering with an atypical answer, like "Christian - LDS (Mormon)."

Then again, take my opinion with a grain of salt, since I'm a first-year, too. I didn't fill it out, not because I didn't want to, but because I don't like the idea of agnosticism being classified as "Other" - or worse, "None."
