We are in the process of completing numerous scholarship applications and the question came up on how to complete the “Father” section. Should we put the step father who the student lives with or her biological father? Some scholarships ask for marital status and I am remarried and no sure how to answer. Should I put married and include my husband (step father) or divorced and biological father?
I’d put bio father. For FAFSA you have to put step-father, but that’s looking at household income. A scholarship may care more about other things (or care about nothing at all and just want the name of the parent).
Each may have its own answer to the question.
