Removing Beer Labels

How does one remove the label from a beer bottle without damaging the label? My friend is into sampling various beers and wants to remember which beers he liked/didn’t like for the future. I suggested a spreadsheet, but he wants to save the labels!

Disclaimer: This is an adult, not a college student.

We have removed special wine labels by soaking the empty bottle overnight (at least) in a sink full of hot water. I don’t suppose this is foolproof but we have several special labels that survived pretty much intact. Just keep soaking until you can easily slip the label off. If you can slip off just part of it, soak longer.

why doesn’t he just take a picture of it on his cell phone?

I hope this doesn’t offend violate any CC rules, but a google search turned up these sites:

(I had to look this up because I had no idea how to do this.)

Hmmm… I’m starting to think that I should befriend wine lovers rather than beer lovers … classier???

steam, from an iron might work… but be careful. Don’t drink the beer right before you try to get the label off.

Hi there,

I use to collect [beer labels](http://www.selfadhesivelabels.com/beer_labels.html) but i know from experience they can be a right pain to get of the bottle and when you don’t want to ruin the label it can be a very difficult task. One day i did a search on the net for ways to [remove sticky labels](http://www.selfadhesivelabels.com/how-to-remove-stickers.php), i got some very useful results back.

had a chuckle. Used to do this myself in my younger days. if you wait till the summer months you can do it without doing anything but sitting with the bottle after coming out of the fridge and let it get sweaty and a good thumb nail.
