Removing Grades from other college on home institution transcript?

Hi,

I was a student a Broward Community College from 2012 fall to 2013 spring. I applied as a TRANSIENT student to Miami Dade College and took a total of six classes there from summer 2013 to fall 2013. To apply as a transient student you have to apply through FLVC.ORG and then state the classes you want, and have it approved by the home institution(BCC). I never read the fine print that says “By submitting application, you authorize the host institution to release transcripts upon completion of academic term…”. I was wondering how BCC got my transcripts from MDC. My grades at MDC were 10x worse than at BCC(Home Institution), and its making my BCC look really bad and lowers the GPA-even though I told MDC that I am no longer pursuing an AA degree with them and technically there shouldnt be any reason for my MDC grades to show on my BCC(Home institution) transcript.

I told BCC I didn’t ever grant permission for my transcripts from MDC to be sent to them, but just realized today that FLVC was the one that technically authorized the release after I submitted the application.

Does anyone here have any idea what I can do to keep the grades from Broward College and Miami Dade college completely separate? Please answer if you really know if anything can be done? I’m thinking of emailing BCC and asking them that since Im no longer a degree seeking student there if they can ONLY include my classwork done at BCC on the official transcript and remove the grades transferred in from MDC.

Quick Summary:
Home institution: BCC(Broward College)
Host Institution(where I took transient coursework: MDC (Miami Dade College)
Short question: How can I get my MDC grades removed from my BCC transcript, when I never physically sent the transcripts by myself to my home institution from my host institution.

Why I want to do this: My grades at MDC are Fs and completely disfigure my BCC home institution transcript. I know it is my responsibility to report all college work when I apply to an institution where I am seeking a degree, but I’m not seeking a degree at Broward College anymore.

Does BCC know that you are no longer a degree-seeking student? It is possible that you cannot change your status in their system, and you will be permanently in their records as degree-seeking which means that what they do with the MDC grades depends on their policies. If you don’t want the MDC grades recorded on your BCC transcript, then you need to meet with the head of the BCC Registrar’s office, and find out if they can be left off.

If it is true that your MDC grades are all Fs, you may want determine whether or not MDC has a grade-forgiveness policy whereby re-taking the courses would make the Fs disappear entirely.

They probably were combined because they’re both in the same college system. I don’t know if you can separate them or not, about the only ones that could answer that are either the college or the FL public college system.

If you’re asking because you’re planning to transfer, which it looks like you are, you would have to send transcripts to all colleges attended anyway, so separating them would not change anything. And if you’re still planning on transferring to another FL public, then there is very likely no way to hide those grades, best to look into grade-forgiveness like hm1 recommended.
