How many ppl eventually get accepted out of the 50 chosen for the interview?

We typically admit approximately 18-20 students each year out of the 50 finalists.

The goal is to ultimately have 10 out of 50 people (no more, no less) in the REMS program attending each year. This doesn’t work out perfectly each time, because usually more than 10 are accepted to account for attrition. So, in the past, if all of those accepted decided to stay, you could have a REMS “class” made up of >10 students. Other years (2006), of attrition is very high, ie less than 10 people accept, the admissions office calls a few of the 50 interviewees who were initially denied admission to fill in the gap - that is, to round up the REMS class to 10.
