<p>Even though we knew that DS, a freshman, wouldn’t get any financial aid, we had him apply, just in case. We did it also because it was suggested here that it is good to have that stuff in place. Now almost at the end of his first year, I didn’t realized it was already time to renew the application. I just got a letter from the school giving us a short deadline to come up with the renewal, so I am wondering if anyone has experienced this. Would it be okay to skip next year and apply again in his junior year? Not sure that I will be able to get it done in time. He is not getting anything, anyway.</p>
<p>I don’t know the answer to your question, but have you asked the school for an extension on applying? Due to some circumstances we had to ask for an extension and they gave us one month with no questions asked. We ended up getting it all in on time, but it was nice having the extension just in case. (We don’t get anything but loans, but file every year just in case something happens.</p>
