<p>I go to UW Madison, but would have gone to UCSB if it weren’t for the out of state tuition. Now that I’m out of the dorms and have a fairly good grasp of what rent is like here on campus for apartments/houses, I was wondering what rent is for most people in IV? I know people say it’s insanely expensive, but how expensive is it? Here at Madison, most people pay between $450-700/month depending on building and room sharing.</p>
<p>I’d assume that just about everyone shares a room with another person. But on average, what’s rent for your own room and sharing a room in IV in an apartment or house?</p>
<p>Me: $650/person (times 3 people) for 1.5 bedroom (basically 2 really small bedrooms) + bath + kitchen [apt.]</p>
<p>The major downside to living in IV is the 12 month lease. Unless you don’t mind living with strangers desperate to find a roommate, you will have to pay for the summer.</p>
<p>yeah, if you are transferring you can always go on craigslist and find someone looking for an extra strageler roommate. i know that right now there are 2 bedrooms on sueno for rent, they have giant signs out front. </p>
<p>500-800/month depending on location and amount of people. some people fit 8 people in a 3 bedroom on dp and manage low rent. but then again you are paying for the entire year</p>
