repaying loans due to unofficial withdrawl

So here’s my question/ situation.

This semester I was in grad classes. In the middle of the semester but less than half way through it I stopped attending class due to aggressive liver cancer. I tried to get back to class (liberty online) but it was very hard to. When grades where posted I received two F’s and a FN (never attended class). I’m an undergrad taking trying some grad classes and the loans where taken out at the graduate level. I’m guessing I’m going to have to repay these loans, I totally understand. Things have gotten a little bit better and treatments have started working for me. I’ve applied and gotten into a local university to start a new program and I’ve been awarded some grants and some unsub loans. Will I be able to attend classes and get aid if I’m having to repay these loans from this semester. Its a bit confusing situation. I’m not sure how this repayment works and i’m a bit worried to be honest. I didn’t mean to get sick but now im stuck in this situation. Any advice or info would be helpful. I dont want to go back in the spring with this undergrad classes and halfway through find out i couldn’t get my fin aid because of the repayment.

A friend directed me to this link which has the repayment policy.
. At the end of the first week of each class, the course will be reviewed to determine if the
student attended. If the student did not attend, the student will be automatically dropped from the
course roster and will not be allowed to submit further course work. Students are expected to
submit tests and course work throughout the term and/or sub-term. Students who begin
attendance, but then cease progressing toward the completion of the course will be assigned a grade of “FN.” If the student receives all FN’s in a sub-term, the student will be subject to the Unofficial Withdrawal Procedure which includes the reduction and/or return of all financial aid.

I only recived one FN. I dont know if that matters.

Did you ask for a medical withdrawal. Contact the university and ask if that is possible. You do not want those Fs on your record if you can avoid it.

While you have them on the phone, ask them about what to do about the loans.

I did actually ask about a medical withdrawal but they told me that there wasn’t any. Agreed on the F’s. I can work to remedy those little by little in the future as long as i can stay in school. Its a pretty terrible situation.
