so if i repeat a course how will it be looked at for transfer admissions?..will they take the most recent to calc. gpa?, take the highest to calc. the gpa, or take an avg of both to calc the cum.gpa?

Well what did u get in that course? If it’s below C, then repeat it, especially if it’s in your major. Most schools won’t transfer credits if it falls below C or C-. It’s not up to the transfer admissions to decide on your grade- it’s up to your school’s registrar. Find out the policy- some schools will average the grades and others will only take the highest grade. Basically, usually what happens is that the school will just replace that letter grade, not add the course to the current semester.

Like…

Fall-
Songs of ABC - A
Basketweaving -D
Why did Pluto Die? -B
Harry Potter Lit -B+

Spring
Stats-B
History of Greek Gods- A-
Science of Jon Stewart- A-

Say you repeat Basketweaving in the spring semester. It’s not going to show up on your transcript again. Instead, if you muster a B in that class, then that new grade will show up in lieu of the D…

Fall-
Songs of ABC - A
Basketweaving - B
Why did Pluto Die? -B
Harry Potter Lit -B+

So you took Harry Potter Lit too.

I was making it up!

Yea I know but it would be funny as hell if they really had a class like that. I would probably be the first one to sign up.

An english professor I know is trying to create a seminar like that.

My school does have a Harry Potter lit class, it’s called Fantasy Literature through Harry Potter. There’s a Lord of the Rings section as well. I keep trying to get into the HP class but it locks out immediately. I love my school.

seriously what schools are you two at? too bad i’m graduating!!! but if my grad school offers something like that… maybe I can audit :D

Columbia College Chicago, YAY art school. apparently it’s a really great class too, I know a few people that have taken it. It’s a friday morning 9 AM
