I’m currently an 11th grader attending a public high school with a 3.9 GPA. I’m considering applying to private school because I feel like my HS isn’t preparing me for college. If I attend private school I would be repeating my junior year because I am late born. I started kindergarten at 4 and I’ve always been younger than a lot of my classmates because my birthday is at the end of November. My parents want me to repeat because they don’t want me going to college OOS at 17, but I’m concerned about how colleges will view this. If I repeat 11th grade, how would that affect my chance of getting into colleges like the University of Washington or Whitman College?
My son went to Whitman and loved it. What I know about Whitman is that the admissions office is helpful and kind. I think you should call and ask. Why not? They are looking for students like you.
