<p>From what I’ve read it varies but 15-20% of the kids in a class may have repeated and that’s not just in the ISL. There are no negative connotations to repeating a year.</p>
<p>Will colleges know that a student repeated his 9th grade year ?</p>
<p>Honestly, I don’t know but I’m sure there is someone here that knows.</p>

<p>I don’t know the percentage, but I can tell you there are a lot of repeat ninth graders at Andover. There are also a lot of autumn-birthday kids (who turn 15 very early in the school year), and a good number of late-start Kindergarteners. Just being 14 and having a May birthday, I’m on the young side for my year.</p>
<p>I would imagine you would be up front and let them know; that’s what we plan on having my son do (he’s a repeat frosh). It shouldn’t be a problem as it’s quite common at the preps.</p>
