Repertoire for three females

Anybody know of any MT songs good for 3 women/one adult-two teens? My daughters and I have been asked to sing at a benefit.
I know about At the Ballet, but we need something cheerier. Thought I’d get some input from all the MT aficionados here!

Might it be possible to take a female duet and turn it into a song for three and divvy up the parts?

Possibilities if you go that route:

Marry the Man Today from Guys and Dolls
Three Bedroom House from Bat Boy
Friendship from Anything Goes
I Could Never Leave You from Side Show
Bosom Buddies from Mame
What You Don’t Know about Women from City of Angels
Baby Dream Your Dream from Sweet Charity
Anything You Can Do from Annie Get Your Gun
Who Will Love Me As I Am from Side Show
I Move On from Chicago
My Own Best Friend from Chicago
For Good from Wicked
You Rule My World from The Full Monty
By My Side from Godspell
Statues and Stories from A Light in the Piazza
What is This Feeling from Wicked
How the Other Half Lives from Millie
Little Me from Little Me
In His Eyes from Jekyll and Hyde
Some Things are Meant to Be from Little Women
We Are Women from Candide
Old Friend from Merrily We Roll Along
I Feel Pretty from West Side Story (not really a duet but could work for a group of three)
I Know Him So Well from Chess
Hey Look Me Over from Wildcat
Class from Chicago
The Grass is Always Greener from Woman of the Year
A Quarter to Nine from 42nd Street
There’s Always a Woman from Anyone Can Whistle
Ohio from A Wonderful Town

Or do a medley…
Teen girls could sing “If Momma Was Married” and you sing one of Rose’s songs like Everything’s Coming Up Roses

Or take a song and make it into a small group song such as:
What I Did for Love from A Chorus Line
How Lucky You Are from Seussical
You’re the Top from Anything Goes
Hear My Song from Songs for a New World
A New World from Songs for a New World

Meant for 3 women:
You Gotta Have a Gimmick from Gypsy
Meant for 3 people:
Together, Wherever We go from Gypsy

Unless it would feel too weird to sing it with your daughters, you could do “Matchmaker.”

Or, unless it feels too “adult” - “You Could Drive a Person Crazy” from “Company”

Or “Holding Out for a Hero” from “Footloose”

Or, without regard to gender, Fugue for Tinhorns, from Guys and Dolls.

Is there something from Cinderella that the stepmother and two stepdaughters sing together? I know about Stepsisters’ Lament, but I can’t remember if Mom sings with them.

Well - if You Could Drive a Person Crazy would be considered “too adult”, you probably wouldn’t want to consider You Gotta Get a Gimmick from Gypsy - but it is a trio of lovely ladies :)

As someone mentioned - Together Wherever We Go - same show - is really 2 Rose, Louise, and Herbie, but would work just as well with 3 women - and certainly more to the point for you and two daughters.

I vote for Together Wherever We Go! (Not that I actually have a vote…:))

Me, too… Gypsy is my #1 favorite musical of all time, and that’s a really fun number. The audience will love it, and the sentiment expressed works for a mother-daughter-daughter team. Videotape it and let us see you guys on Youtube.com! :)

NMR…ha ha, I figured with a name like yours, you like Gypsy! So do I. When I got done typing up my list, I thought to myself that they should do Together Wherever We Go because is it meant for three people and seems fitting for a mom and two daughters.

If they want to go with humor, however, Gotta Get a Gimmick would work.
For a medley from Gypsy, the teens could have done If Momma Was Married and then the mom sing Everything’s Coming Up Roses. That’s it for my Gypsy kick of the moment.

All of your suggestions are wonderful! Keep 'em coming!!

Sing for your Supper - Boys from Syracuse (Rodgers and Hart)

OR - don’t know if you specifically want MT - how about an Andrews Sisters song? (Technically, it could be from a musical – Over Here). Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy is the first one that sprang to mind, but there are tons of others.

There are lots of wonderful Andrews sisters trios from Sisters of Swing… an Andrews Sisters musical… I do not know where you would find the music though, unless you knew someone who had done the show.

There are also some wonderful arrangements of Rodgers and Hammerstein songs in Grand Night for Singing.

What about “At the Ballet” from ACL - meant for 3 women.

Love the Gypsy ideas, also!

Ericsmom, that is a good one (!!), but Momsinger said she wanted something cheerier than At The Ballet (first post).

I’m impressed that Momsinger can sing…I surely cannot! NO way would I be on stage with my girls singing.

Gypsy is one of my very favorite shows tooo!!!

I’m a professional singer! My apples didn’t fall far from the tree!

Momsinger, that is very cool! I just figured you were a “Mom of Singer”! You surely can help your kids with your expertise. You’ve got one talented family (at least the female side, LOL). Let us know what song you ended up performing. I think it must be a wonderful experience for you to perform with your kids.

“A Lovely NIght”! My D played the stepmother last year and with the 2 step daughters they stole the show with this song! They really hamed it up.

What about something from Mamma Mia?
