Repetitiveness in the essays?

As I write the essays for Brown, I can’t help but feel that I’m just repeating my interests over and over. For instance, since I’m applying for PLME, I’m writing about the evolution of my medical aspirations, then for the curriculum, I’m talking about science again, then for the required talk about your academic interests, I would pretty much be reiterating my responses for PLME. Finally, for intellectual experience I’m writing about a book that inspired me to go into neuroscience (my prefered concentration). Is this okay (that I repeat myself at least a little in each essay) or…?

I suppose a little repetition is inevitable (I’m doing PLME too) but try and diversify the essays as much as possible. Maybe a common underlying “theme” (which in your case would be neuroscience or something, I suppose) but try to elaborate it differently, showing different sides of your personality through each individual essay. I hope this makes sense/helps. Good luck.

thanks
yea I’m trying to think of interesting spins I can put in each essay to make them different from each other, but I feel like i’m wasting so much space repeating myself when I could really be showing more sides of myself…
should I scrap the intellectual experience essay that I wrote for something else non-related to neuroscience? Or will they somehow appreciate the consistency?

Should have consistency like your extracurriculars in your essay, but I wouldn’t be repetitive about a point.

Your passion from science can be seen from one essay. Unless you have a different perspective to offer, I wouldn’t use the same topic.

I know one person was mostly a math/science person (and it showed in their essays/extracurrics) and wrote one of their essays about how they overcame their difficult english class and grew a love for it.

Since I’m very crunched for time, would it be better to submit essays that may be repetitive in the neuroscience aspect but very well written, or one well written neuroscience essay with a not as great essay on a diff topic?
