Replacement windows

I’ve searched, but can’t find where people have discussed this. Hard to believe, but here goes.

Our doorwall in the basement has cracked glass. Replacing the glass is probably not wise since the doorwall itself is old and barely locks.

Can anybody recommend whre we should start to look into this? Name brand company like Anderson, Pella or Hanson? Or something else? I’m clueless.

therma-tru and plaspro. the first is american company, the latter japanese. both make excellent doors. I used a window & door man, rather than home depot/lowes. anderson, of course, is good, but has many subdivisions. nothing agt anderson, just pricey.

what is a door wall? is that also a sliding glass door?

Here’s one from last month about Pella:

I know it’s not the first time I’ve mentioned our replacement windows so maybe a search including names, e.g., Pella, Andersen, Marvin (only three I can think of offhand) would turn up the other discussions.

Yes. That’s what we call them here.

alwaysamom: thanks. I’ll read that thread.
