Hi guys, I was wondering whether it would be okay to explain to admissions office an error in my supplemental essay.
The question is about writing what I want to major in. Obviously, my passion is Astronomy, however, idiotically, I wrote Astrology, which is a pseudo-science and I don’t have any interest in it. Now I am really worried and want to explain to them my mistake. The thing is I wrote Astronogy instead of Astronomy and the word program auto-corrected it into Astrology… It is okay to explain this? because I don’t see any other way to deal with it…

You MUST report the error. I really doubt your school has an astrology major. It would definitely hurt your chances if you do not rectify this error!

thank you very much I will write them immediately

You had several months to write and edit your essays and you made a really silly mistake? That says a lot about you to that college. Most likely they won’t consider fixing it when you contact them. It’s unfair for other applicants that spent their time on the essays. I would suggest having your emotions prepared.

Bummer, what a sinking feeling. Send the email, mention the autocorrect feature, reaffirm your interest is sciencific.

I have already done it. thanks. I do not understand how is it unfair but anyways, I realize that my mistakes are my responsibility. I prefer to stay positive Bouncer…
