@AAR … Well, thanks for thanking me, but now that I’ve read your response to @oceanpartier, I want to explore further. After your senior year graduation, did you take courses at at any CCC during either Summer 2010 or Fall 2010? If you did, there might be a problem with your original application if you applied as a freshman. I think once you take college courses after high school, you are eligible to apply only as a transfer. Even if you didn’t take CCC courses during summer and fall. I’m a bit concerned that even taking a Spring 2011 course may trip you up. I’m not even talking about what grade you earn; I’m concerned that some clerk sees your CCC transcript in July 2011 and decides that you were ineligible to apply as a freshman.
You’re probably on a razor thin timeline here, but if I were you, I would phone or email to UCI admissions right away and tell them your situation and ask specifically if taking a spring semester course would in any way invalidate your status as a freshman applicant. On the 5% chance that they say it would invalidate your application, I would drop the course. Of course this would be totally unproductive to your education, but big institutional processes have a habit of screwing things up. Best of luck.
