Reputation of UIUC at Chicago

Hi! I’m a Senior who committed to UIUC and plan to major in Statistics and Economics (and probably minor in comp sci)
I just have a quick question about my college. Since I know there are UChicago and Northwestern, I’m worried about my school’s reputation because I am not majoring Engineering, so here are my questions.

Is UIUC considered good school in Chicago?
Also, do IB from Chicago recruit from UIUC although I do not major in Finance?

Thank you for your answers and have a nice day!

UIUC has a strong reputation in Chicago. If you want to pursue IB look into the Investment Banking Academy.
I don’t have much first-hand knowledge of it, but check out the link.

It is very competitive. Also, I’m not sure if you have to be a business major.

I would be less worried about UIUC’s reputation and more focused on what you need to do. A lot pf people want to go into IB for the salary, without considering what IB is and demands…kind of like how a lot of people start out thinking pre-med, but when the reality is faced, change course.

I don’t want to discourage you, but it would be prudent to do some research and then talk with advisors before you arrive on campus. You want to sign up for the right classes and have realistic expectations. It’s better to know, as soon as possible, if you will have to try to transfer into the College of Business. Good luck!!
