I am attending Washington University in St. Louis next fall and am most likely going to major in political science.

All other factors (like GPA, LSATs etc) aside, how negatively or positively will the “Reputation” of Wash U affect my application for Law School? I am hoping to go to T6 or T14.

I don’t think my major of Political Science will be a negative and might be a positive (again, not sure).

Wash U doesn’t have the “best” reputation compared to other universities so how would this affect my application?

Yes I know it’s in 3-4 years but I want to be prepared. Thank you.

The college’s “name” that you go to for your undergraduate will have very little impact, probably non at all on your application. It’s what you make of your time there that matters.

If you’ve went to a Harvard or a Yale or a Princeton, then yes, that might have a small impact on your application, but again, not a huge one.

BTW i’m not sure what other universities your talking about… Washu has a great reputation, much better than all but say the top 10-20 schools.

Law schools only look at sheer numbers, not subjective ideals like college rankings of pretigiousness.

If you get a 3.5+ GPA and a 165+ LSAT score then you stand a very good chance to being admitted to a T14 school.

For a T5 school, you’d need a 3.8+ GPA and a 170+ LSAT score.

Keep strong brother.

This is incorrect.

This is also incorrect.

Close, but also incorrect.

Ya it seems to be more like 3.7+ with 167+ for t14, you can go higher or lower in one area if you make up for it in the other area.
