I am a CC transfer, and I want to go to College A because it’s in state. College A offered only FA in loans. While College B is out-of-state and offered about the same amount in loans along with a 10k merit scholarship. College A is still the cheaper choice, but my single mother has to support my grandparents and uncle so any financial relief is helpful. Also, College A offers a few transfer scholarships that I’ll apply for. Would it be possible to ask College A to review my FA because College B has offered a 10k merit scholarship in hope of receiving more FA? Thanks!
It is very possible that you didn’t qualify for merit at college A. But you did at college B.
Your parent choice to support your grandparents and uncle will be viewed by the colleges as a choice and will not factor into this at all.
You can ask…but don’t hold your breath.
Colleges will sometimes consider offers from peer schools (as they define them). It can’t hurt to ask but I wouldn’t count on it.
