<p>Well, I finished my taxes last Monday and was so relieved to be done that I put them aside to go back to concentrating on work. Then I got to thinking that my AGI was somewhat less than I had expected after all my business deductions. Then I realized that that affects the FAFSA. So I just went back in and found that my EFC is several thousand lower. </p>
<p>So I called my son’s first choice school (well, so far…he still has til the end of the week to decide!) and they said I could write a letter to ask them to take this into consideration. </p>
<p>Has anyone done this? If you have any words of wisdom as to what to say, I would really appreciate it. Is it better to do this prior to his acceptance or after?</p>
