Requirement for Cornell chemical engineering computer

<p>My brother recently got into the chemical engineering in Cornell. I did see the computer requirements on the Cornell site, except apparently my dad thinks the engineering college has more requirements.

They bother have i7’s more or equal 8gb of ram, and more or equal to 750gb.</p>

<p>Gaming laptops are a complete waste of money for a lot of reasons (overpriced, terrible reliability, far less powerful than desktops). If you want to do gaming, build a gaming desktop and buy a decent laptop, and that will still end up costing less than the laptop you’re talking about.</p>

<p>If you’re not going to be gaming, then you shouldn’t be looking at laptops like that in the first place, because most of that price is a result of the gaming graphics card it has.</p>
