On the admissions site, they say that they “recommend” that you have four years of English, but it sounded more like they require it. I am thinking of graduating early and I only have three years of English. Does this mean I do not meet requirements or make my chances of getting in lower?

No, I’m pretty sure that it truly is just “recommended.” My sister was in your same situation and she got in with only 3 units of English.

Hi guys- We do recommend 4 years, but it’s a strong recommendation. If you have three years, we are going to really take a good look at what you took instead. Say, for example, you opted not to take a 4th year of English, and instead doubled up on your senior year sciences, then great! if you dropped English and replaced it with Knit and Stitch, or Card Games and Tricks (two of my favorite classes I saw from last year) then that’s a different story. Just make sure you have a strong yet balanced schedule that you are comfortable with.

TulaneJeff - How does the situation for the OP factor in? How is graduating in 3 years regarded with respect to being admitted… Is it a plus? or are there issues that could be of concern?
