Can ur acceptance to UCSD get rescinded bc of a U in the citizenship grade. Im really pissed and scared bc i dont think i deserve this U. Basically what happened is I wasnt going to get credit for the AP test but my teacher said we all had to, otherwise we had to write a book report. So not wanting to write a report or take a meaningless test i just showed up to the test and took a nap through the whole test. She gave me a U for that. I feel like this is going to ruin the rest of my life. All of the hard work i did in high school thrown away bc i took a nap. Anyways do u think i could explain this to UCSD or am i just done?
Colleges don’t care about any “citizenship” grades unless you did something that merited expulsion from the school. You could have straight Us – whatever that means.
You are four years worth of tuition and fees – they know how their bread is buttered.
Your teacher is simply trying to (successfully) scare you.
First, was this an AP test for " citizenship"? Is this that test some states require to graduate?
Second, sometimes all of us just have to “jump through the hoops”. If you are so worried, go to the teacher and apologize. Ask if you can retake the test or submit a book report. Tell her you regret your actions.
Do citizenship grades even show up on a transcript? I doubt it. There isn’t one at our school. (Yes on report cards sent home but not on a transcript).

No, because you basically had a big kid version of a tantrum (“I don’t wannnnnnaaaaaa take the test and you can’t make me”).
As @txstella says, sometimes you have to do things that seem pointless- and sometimes things aren’t as pointless as they seem. UCSD gives credit for most APs, and in some subjects even a score of 3 can exempt you from the intro course.
As @T26E4 says, citizenship marks are not going to get your offer rescinded. But, it is time to put on your big boy pants.
I agree, It was immature not to follow through on the requirements of a class that you signed up for. Time to grow up. Likely even doing a mediocre book report and sitting for a test would have got you the grade you need to have no worries. Hopefully you won’t be rescinded for citizenship (although I’m not sure what AP would go with a citizenship class so perhaps this is a more important class than you are letting on – in which case you may have an issue). Perhaps apologize and to the teacher for your lapse and ask if you can still do a book report to get a C in the class.
It’s not going to ruin the rest of your life but the attitude you equipped going into the test will, if you continue it. Sometimes you have to do things in life you don’t want to. They may seem pointless and stupid but it’s the way things are. Your attitude by taking a nap was disrespectful and irresponsible and you need to own up to it. Apologize to the teacher and see if there’s any way you can change the grade through extra credit, retest, or book report etc.
I doubt colleges will even see that U unless it affects your whole grade, but you still need to improve your attitude.
How did your teacher find out you were napping during the AP exam? I thought teachers weren’t allowed to be in the exam room.

I think that the OP’s school gives marks for citizenship separately from grades, and this was the only way the teacher had of expressing her view of his choice to ostentatious fulfill the letter of the law (he went to the AP exam), but not the spirit of the law (napping).
