Rescinded admission

After all of the work, hope, and struggle for the sake of building a future for myself, my college decided that the proper time to inform me that my admission was revoked, or as they put it, “cancelled”, was juuuuust after I had no way of creating a backup plan for myself.

Community colleges are full, and in general, I’m too proud for something like that anyway, considering the scores I achieved and the intellectual caliber of people I associate with.

So, my question is simple. What in the WORLD am I supposed to do now? I am determined to establish a quality education for myself so that I can start on a career that will be successful and fulfilling for me. The question is, how am I supposed to do that now?

If you need more information, I’ll gladly supply it, but I am beyond the point of no return, and there is literally no way at all for me to over-emphasize this: I am DESPERATE.

take a gap year! it’s a great opportunity. This situation sucks, but look at it as a whole bunch of doors opening up.
What have you always wanted to do?
Backpack around Europe.
Work to pay for college when you do go.
Volunteer to build hospitals in South America.

Whatever you want, do it. Have some fun!
Reapply for Fall 2013. You might be a year behind your graduating class, but what option do you have at this point? You’ll be behind no matter what, might as well make the best of it.
Good luck!

Yup gap year is your best bet. Just make sure next time you spread your net a little wider with some contingencies. Gap years work out for some people. Contact other potential schools that your interested see if you can work with the professorrs or volunteer etc. lots of possibilities.
