Hi, I was admitted to USC in January and am having a bit of a problem with my Track and Field attendance. For the last few trackmeets, I have been sitting out, nursing my injured back. However, a few of those times, I ditched the track meet early, and my coach marked me down as truant. So now I’m in danger of failing track… would this affect my admission to USC? If anyone can shed some light on this issue I would be really grateful!

Can you just drop the track “class” so it wont’ appear on your transcript? At my son’s school the deadline for dropping spring semester classes has not passed yet - check yours to see.

Even if you can’t or don’t drop the class, I don’t think many colleges include PE classes in their gpa calculations for admission decisions, so I wouldn’t worry too much about this. If you’re really concerned, you could email the admissions office and ask which subjects they take into account (but don’t mention your issues with the track grading).
