Rescinded?

I am preparing to enter a Top 10 boarding school. If I drop in my last semester before attending from "Exceeding Expectations (4) " to “Developing toward Expectations (2)” in one of two criteria in English; and one of two criteria in History, would I likely be rescinded?

No.

Unlikely, but why risk it? Especially not in two different subjects.

Playing devil’s advocate, it might depend on a few factors. Does the school have a waiting listing? Is the school known to your current school, enough that they can trust that you have the foundation to succeed at the new school? Is there any other red flag that might give them a reason to reconsider?

Just work as hard as you can until the school year is over.

It is unlikely that you would be rescinded for this.

BUT… you need to figure out why you’re slipping and what to do about it. Your new school is likely to be much more demanding than your current one, so if you are having trouble getting organized, motivated, or understanding, you need to make sure that’s not going to continue next fall and beyond. If you can address it now and bring your grade up - even to a 3 - that should give you some confidence. Your teachers may be able to help as well.

Thanks for your comments. I won’t have any other issues, and have pretty much secured one of the final grades to be a 4. Other one is still in a percarious state

thank you so much for your comments. I’ve got one up to a 4 and the other one will most likely get better.

Do your best but I doubt a couple of slips in grades would cause a recision. I don’t know for sure, but I would assume that would happen only with a dramatic change in academic performance (not due to health or family issues) or, more likely, behavioral issues.

I’m sure you’ll be alright! Don’t be too anxious
