Rescinding Acceptance

Hi, I got accepted into WPI and have two issues. In my application, I said I was taking French 2 online, but the online class has internal problems and I might not be able to finish the course. WPI doesn’t have a foreign language requirement, but would not finishing the course still be a problem? Also, my grades this semester are A’s and B’s but have one C. This is my first C in high school ever and it’s in AP Calc. Would WPI rescind my acceptance due to these two issues? I have been stressing out about this so much! Please help!!

Contact WPI about the change in your online class. You shouldn’t have any issues.

If you change your previously reported in-progress schedule, inform the colleges you applied to now. For those which have already admitted you, find out if the change will affect your admission.

In terms of grades, does your admission offer give any specific conditions regarding grades or GPA in your in-progress courses? If so, use what the college says to determine if you are ok. Otherwise, (a) do not earn a D or F, and (b) do not let your last semester (or year) GPA drop too far from your previous GPA – however, “too far” can be a subjective determination by the college, or may be a threshold the college has in mind but does not want to tell you in the admission offer (but perhaps they may tell you if you ask).

The college just said to maintain my current standing which has always been a mix of A’s and B’s, but overall with the one C my GPA doesn’t drop far at all because all my other classes are AP.
