Rescinding college acceptance

I am an international RD admit on almost full scholarship to one of the top liberal arts colleges (don’t want to name) and I was wondering what exactly it takes for a LAC to rescind their admission offer. I study A-levels and applied with predictions of 4A. My January report said AAAB (messed up mocks), but like a complete idiot, I made a last minute decision that 4 A-levels weren’t enough and took a fifth that I self-studied. My LAC doesn’t know about it, as I took it up in the last week of April, which was long after I was admitted, but what they will know will be my actual results, which won’t be near my predictions. Because of the self-studied A-level (took too much of my time at the last moments when every minute mattered), I feel that I might get AAAAB at best and AAABB at worst (I won’t know until 17th of August). Is this enough for them to rescind my acceptance & take away the scholarship (it is need based though)?

No.

In general you will not get your admissions rescinded unless:
• You get a D or below
• Commit a crime
• You were untruthful in your application.

Otherwise, relax. The college wants you.

They won’t care

Okay, well, so even my worst case scenario was good. I ended up with A*ABCD literally. Can they rescind my offer now/are they likely to?

Can they? Yes. Will they? Maybe. Nobody outside the college will know. Perhaps you will be lucky and they will view the D in an overall context. Good luck.

Would you recommend sending them a letter of explanation straight away or waiting to hear something from them first?
