Rescinding question (very specific question)

Okay, so I just got my grades back and they were the worst grades I have ever gotten in my life.... ever.... by far. I think it's cuz I really was stressed 3rd quarter and we just had so much work that I didn't divide my time up equally. Anyway, I was a full IB candidate (and at this rate will have my IB diploma) with 4 HL courses (math, english, history, and chem). I got 2 As, 4 Bs, and a C (in french, which I've always had trouble in and is notoriously difficult and is my first C in my life...). The Bs were in IB HL classes and advanced college math classes (graph theory and matrix theory). So, the reason why I'm posting is because I'm wondering if class difficulty is played into account of rescinding. This was easily the hardest semester of my life considering i was toppled by IAs 3rd quarter literally every week. I just wanted to be sure that everything is going to be okay and I won't need to go to my state school...

I know no one here could give me a FOR SURE answer, but input from students/alum will make me feel better.

I do not know Brown's specific policy, but I have ready several times here on CC that you need really, really bad grades to get an offer rescinded -- like Ds and Fs, not Bs and one C. So personally I think you are okay.

I would not worry at all - that's a 3.14 GPA. Not ideal overall, but hardly rejection material for a second semester senior.

youre fine

You are fine. My grade are even worst. I was traveling for interview the whole April, just came back before the AP exam. My brain was empty when I was sitting in the test center.

Darn, if you get rescinded, then I am certainly done for.
I think you're fine.

Don't worry. A friend of mine got a D in calculus in her second semester of senior year. Although she was terrified her acceptance would be rescinded, her fears were unfounded. I only know of one person in the class of '13 who got his acceptance revoked. I don't know the details of the incident that got him kicked out, but it involved sexually harassing someone at ADOCH. Unless you've committed a felony, or have gotten straight Ds for an entire semester, I really wouldn't worry about it. Put it out of your mind, and enjoy your summer. Brown accepted you because they want you, and they're not going to kick you out unless you give them a damn good reason to. :)

I'm sure you are fine. My daughter also got her only C ever Sr semester in Calc BC and was fine. Even went on to a math/cs major. She was class of '05 and I'm sure things are a bit tougher now, but still, not something to withdraw you over, I'm sure.

So if my foreign language grade drops from a B in Q2 to a C+ FINAL grade while the rest of my grades stay in the A range, will I be ok?

@tesb92: Try not to let your grades slip, but if that should happen, I doubt it'd be enough for them to rescind your admission.

You are probably fine! Don't sweat it, I agree with everyone else on this board! :)
