Is there any way I can request a rescore for essay portion of the new SAT? I did very poorly (2, 4, 6) but I feel like the grading was completely unfair. The prompt asked to analyze the author’s persuasion techniques and such. It never asked to “understand the author’s viewpoints”. I mainly focused on how the author developed his arguments and in doing so, I failed to “actually understand what the author was saying” which is shown in the first subscore. Did anyone have the same problems?
The College Board won’t offer you the option to rescore…all it will do is verify that the essay that was scored was is in fact your essay.

I wouldn’t worry about it too much, since it’s the very first SAT in the new format, with the 50-minute essay. Lesson learned for next time about including summary and demonstrating understanding of viewpoints.
