Recently, I have conducted some mathematical structural analysis for a local Architectural company, comparing 2 different structures; mostly their volumetric comparisons. The entire report was made using calculus analysis of different Parabolic formulas that were used to define the structures.

I am wondering whether I should send an abstract of this report as an update to columbia. I am really not sure how insane a report must be, to really be sent as an abstract to a university like Columbia.

P.S. I am an intl student applying to Fu Engineering…

Has Columbia explicitly requested you send updates? The only Ivy I know that has actually written to my son and asked for updates is Brown. Many universities specifically say they want nada, zero, zilch from you after the original submission with the exact number of things they requested. Stanford, e.g., is particularly crazy in that regard. So, check before you send.

No, Columbia hasn’t explicitly asked me for it. I’ve asked the adcom whether I can send an abstract in, and they replied with an affirmative. The only thing i’m curious about is whether it would even looked upon with any weight. How insanely out-of-the-world does a report have to be for it to be considered as good by the adcom?
