Research at BSs

<p>Hi, Everyone,</p>

<p>I am wondering how deep/broad math/science activities could be at top BSs? Worst case scenario, if the students are not really “into” science projects, do they have to do any work outside the school? On the other hand, if the students are ambitious, what BSs have good supports?</p>

<p>I am asking because I heard some public HSs, with emphasis on science and tech, REQUIRE science project(s) every single semester. No matter they like it or not, most students have to find “projects”, which make local biomedical labs very hot. It ends up a competition of parents’ resources. I don’t think it is benign situation for both students who like science/research or who don’t care.</p>

<p>I don’t think there’s anything like that for lower level science classes at Andover. I’m not sure about upper level classes, although your description doesn’t sound like something that would go on.</p>
