I’m a junior in high school interested in working on some sort of research project next summer. I currently take College Chem at a CC (school doesn’t have AP) and my professor (who’s a really nice guy) was telling me about the importance of research and how I should get involved. He told me he would give me a paid research internship next summer at the community college that I live 2 minutes away from.

I contacted other professors at a really large research university that’s about 20 minutes from where I live. One of them offered me an unpaid research internship.

Does it make a difference (with regard to admissions) whether you do paid research at a CC or unpaid research at a big research university?

I’d prefer to help out my professor at the CC since I already know the guy, I live next to the CC, and I’d be making moolah while doing it.
