Research at Harvard University

Can undergraduates do research with professors in the Harvard Medical School?

Of course. Many do. Harvard also makes getting there easy- there’s a convenient shuttle that runs to the Longwood med school campus every half hour.

Thanks! Also, is it possible to carry two research projects in different areas–for example one in the Harvard Medical School and another with a professor in the engineering department? I understand that two research projects will probably take a great deal of time, but is it possible and has it been done?

In the sciences, my experience was that research is something that you mostly carry out on your own, in your own free time, until you come to the point where you enroll in a class to work on a thesis (if you so choose). Since you’re the one arranging it with the professor, as long as you can dedicate the amount of time required for the positions, I don’t see why not :)

Does anyone know of any biofuel research that is going on at Harvard? I’ve searched numerous times online but wasn’t able to find any.
