<p>I was wondering if taking a gifted research class in high school for one semester improves your chances in getting accepted to a top school’s molecular biology program.</p>

<p>In undergrad, you typically aren’t admitted to a specific area like molecular biology; at best, you may be admitted to their school of natural sciences or something. But generally you are competing for admissions to the college as a whole.</p>
<p>Taking a gifted research class may certainly help you gain admission, though.</p>
