Research internship @ local uni

I am planning on cold emailing a ton of professors at universities near me, but I have no prior research experience. If I want a neuroscience research internship, what should I list as relevant skills?

You are better off being strategic with this.

A bunch of random emails to professors will probably not yield much.

Ask your high school counselor and science teachers if they know of internships in labs or related areas. They may have specific people to contact.

Neuroscience internships may have layers of background checks, patient privacy laws, etc…some clearance for federally funded labs can take months and applications are due in the fall many times.

Is there a medical university near you that has any programs specifically for high school students?

There may be paid jobs in labs posted that require minimal skills and degrees such as data entry, lab prep, etc…check job listings.

Also network, ask your pediatrician, neighbors, friends parents, etc…if they know anyone doing work in the area you are interested in. Ask for introductions and send thank you notes. Some pharma companies have high school internships.
