Is it possible to juggle an internship during the week and research on weekends?

If your hours don’t conflict, it is always possible. Whether it is manageable is a different story and depends on the internship, the research and you. If you have a 40 hour a week internship and are doing research for 16 hours on the weekends, you may get a little burned out since you are always “on”… but if your research is flexible, it’s certainly manageable. I worked full time and did research before my senior year, and I tried to fit the research work in when I had time, regardless of whether it was a weekend/weekday.

If you’re talking about an internship at a place that is going to work you 80 hours a week, you may want to shy away from research on top. If you’re talking about an internship that’s 20 hours a week, you’ll probably be fine!

Seems possible – just make sure you have really good time management skills.
