Research opportunities at national laboratories?

Do you know of any for high schoolers, in the field of physics primarily? I’ve checked with local universities except they don’t even have one spot for high schoolers right now, even to assist a graduate student :(

If you move really fast you might make the deadline for the NASA INSPIRE programs. Google like crazy. Most government lab programs have deadlines in early January.

Colleges are scrounging to provide undergraduate research experiences to their undergrads. Unless you know someone who is looking for data entry help, colleges aren’t going to be much help at the high school level.

[NIH Summer Internship Program in Biomedical Research](http://www.training.nih.gov/student/sip/) it’s a national program but idk about physics. They still have many areas to research though

Also here is a list of all the internship opportunities for 2009

Brookhaven National Lab on Long Island has summer internships definitely including physics. But there’s no housing… you have to live nearby
